“We are thrilled to bring the Ora 07 to Malaysia, reinforcing our commitment to providing our customers with top-notch, eco-friendly transportation options. The Malaysian market holds tremendous potential, and we believe Ora 07 will attract customers seeking uniqueness,” said Cui Anqi, Managing Director of GWM Malaysia.
While the automaker did not share detailed specifications for the upcoming Ora 07, it confirmed that the EV will be available in two variants - Long Range and Performance.
Powering the Long Range trim is a front-mounted single-motor setup tuned to deliver 204 PS of maximum power and 340 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to an 83.5 kWh ternary lithium-ion battery pack offering a range of 640 km (on the NEDC cycle).
The Ora 07 Performance, on the other hand, comes equipped with a dual-motor AWD setup making 408 PS and 680 Nm. The battery configuration is the same as the Long Range, with a slightly shorter range of 550 km.
As far as the charging speed is concerned, GWM Malaysia said that the battery will be charged from 30-80% in approx 30 mins via DC fast charging.
In terms of features, the local-spec Ora 07 is likely to mimic the one available in Thailand. The Thai-spec model comes fitted with LED headlights, a panoramic glass roof, 18- or 19-inch alloy wheels, an electrically retractable spoiler, a 10.25-inch instrument display, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an ambient lighting system, an 11-speaker sound system, a head-up display, a driver’s memory seat, automatic air-conditioning system, Ventilated and message front seats, intelligent cruise control, traffic jam assist, lane keep assist, a 360-degree camera system, and automatic parking feature.
We can also take the pricing reference from the Thai market, where the EV retails at a price ranging between THB 1,299,000 (RM 173k) and THB 1,499,000 (RM 199k).
