Novitec’s McLaren 720S Spider is more powerful
KUALA LUMPUR: Novitec, a tuned from Germany, has introduced a version of not-so-ordinary McLaren 720S Spider with boosted power and cosmetic enhancements. Along with the boost in performance, the 720S Spider by Novitec is no less than a stunner. It comes with a carbon fibre widebody kit equipped keeping in the mind its aerodynamics characteristics.
Like its sibling, the N-Largo 720S Spider gets a huge splitter at the front and flared arches that house 20-inch Vossen wheels at the front and 21-inch set at the rear. The hypercar is now 60 mm and 130 mm wider at the front and back respectively. The rear is drastically modified, features a new bumper and an attachment for the stock active rear spoiler.
Novitec has also made changes to the suspension setup by fitting a new set of springs which makes ride height lower by 35 mm than on the standard. To boost hypercar’s performance, Novitec has incorporated a new Inconel exhaust system and ‘N-Tronic’ tuning box fittings.
As a result, the 720S Spider, with 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine produces a massive output of 805 PS and 878 Nm. For comparison, the standard model generates 720 PS of max power and 770 Nm of peak torque. The new setup allows the car to do the century sprint in just 2.7 seconds. The 0-200 kmph run is now completed in 7.5 seconds, which is 0.3 seconds better than before. There is a marginal change in its top speed too, now it can touch 346 kmph, whereas earlier it went up to 341 kmph.
It is not about just power and outside enhancement, but Novitec is open to making personalised modifications inside the cabin too. You can tell your preferred colour choice of the leather and Alcantara to the company and they’d be happy to act upon your request.
How much would the McLaren 720S Spider by Novitec cost is still unknown? However, what’s known is that only 15 units will be produced.
