Nissan NP300 Navara Grabs Top Position in 2016 International Pick-up Award

Kuala Lumpur: The all-new Nissan NP300 Navara has won International pick-up crown at the 2016 International Pick-up Award ceremony which took place in Lyon, France. Navara fought off stiff competition from Mitsubishi Triton and Ford Ranger T6. The production of NP300 Navara has commenced at Nissan's Barcelona plant and would arrive in UK showrooms in January 2016. Navara underwent rigorous International Pick-up testing process, being judged for off-road capability, on-road performance and their value for money. Navara delivers Crossover-inspired comfort and refinement while maintaining off-road capabilities. The pickups were also tested on their ability as a workhorse which include towing capabilities.

Judges praised Navara for its striking exterior and interior, new technologies and impressive payload and towing capabilities. Ponz Pandikuthira, the Director of Light Commercial Vehicles for Nissan Europe said, “Nissan is best known by its customers in Europe as the maker of capable 4x4s and breakthrough crossovers. This new Navara represents the fusion of those two realms of excellence to deliver a truly breakthrough pickup truck that combines rugged 4×4 toughness with the sophistication and efficiency of a Crossover”. He further added, “It is truly an honour to be selected as the International Pickup of the Year by a panel of the most experienced commercial vehicle journalists across Europe. Thank you to the IPU jurors for this award and for this powerful endorsement of the new Nissan Navara’s product excellence”.

In Malaysia, it would be offered with a 2.5-litre YD25DDTi oil burner with two states of tunes. Further, it would be fully imported from Thailand and would be sold out in a price range of RM85k to RM125k. For Malaysians, it would be officially launched on 26 November 2016 and would cover a 3-year or 100,000 km warranty.
