Nissan Navara pick-up supports automaker’s corporate social responsibility

KUALA LUMPUR: The pandemic has made things difficult for everyone around us, including the auto industry. It’s been almost three months since automakers are sending units for test runs. However, we hear that someone is putting their lineup to good use, say Nissan for that matter.

Edaran Tan Chong Motor, the official distributor of Nissan cars in Malaysia, is doing its part by helping the ones in need. Lately, ETCM’s employees have been giving out donations and now we hear that they are distributing food and other necessities. Like the brand, the employees were equally enthusiastic about the opportunity to help the needy in these desperate times.

“I’m glad that the company has a platform for us to do something meaningful for those in need. We believe that every bit counts and we hope that this contribution can help make a difference to them. The initiative will not stop here as we strive to make a positive impact on the lives of more people in other areas,” said Mr. Ridwan Hanif bin Zainal, one of ETCMs employees.

All of which is part of Nissan’s corporate social responsibility. But the highlight here is that all Nissan’s effects were supported by the Navara pickup.

Speaking of which, ETCM borrowed a few Navara pickups, including a single cab and the stylish Navara Pro-4X, now being put into use to distribute and transport donations. Included in the list are daily necessities and supplies like sugar, rice, eggs, and more.

“It is very heartwarming to see colleagues coming together to support the community in its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. I would like to thank everyone for their effort, and the Company is committed to support future initiatives of such,” said Mr Christopher Tan, Nissan Malaysia’s Marketing Director.

In other news, Edaran Tan Chong is currently running a Malaysia Day promo wherein the range-topping Almera 1.0 VLT is available at just RM 680 per month. And through the Flexi Financing plan, the facelifted Navara 2.5V can be yours for RM 1,040 per month.

Also, Nissan recently announced a challenge for new Almera owners, wherein the ones getting the most mileage out of their car. The top 20 entries with the best average mileage will get a lego Nissan GT-R. Nissan will be donating RM 1 per kilometre to charity.
