Nissan Launches its Europe-only N-Guard based on the Navara EnGuard Concept
KUALA LUMPUR: Nissan, the globally known automobile brand has come up with its one-off concept truck meant for use primarily in the regions with severe climatic conditions. Navara N-Guard, an exclusive edition of the Nissan Navara has been recently launched only for the European market. This 'go anywhere' pickup is based on the Navara EnGuard Concept that made its debut in the Hannover Motor Show, 2016. The vehicle will serve the purpose of daily commute as well as act as a recreational one. It is based on the Tekna trim but will come equipped with a few added features and some modifications here and there that will make it classy in terms of look and agile in performance!
The pickup will be powered by a 2.3-litre, four-cylindered engine producing 187 PS of top power. The use of latest technologies will make it easier to manoeuvre. The Hill Start Assist will help the driver hold the car in its position while driving uphill and the Hill Descent Control will assist while coming down. Also, the Intelligent Emergency Braking will provide better protection. Parking the vehicle in a jiffy is possible thanks to the 360 degrees AVM. The rear differential lock makes it ideal for off-road driving.
There will be three color options - Metallic Black, Storm White, and Twilight Grey. It is based on the dark theme and black will replace chrome in the fog lamp surrounds, front grille, and mirror covers. The roof rails and side steps will also have a black finish matching the theme. The 18-inch alloy wheels will also be black. Such abundance of the color has prompted some people to call it the 'Black Edition'. There will be unique decals at the front door base, extending up to the cargo box that is present behind the rear wheel. The headlamps will be darkened and the sunroof will have tinted glass.
Just like the exterior, the interior too will get revamped with leather as well as cloth seats. The yellow double stitching will enhance the visual appeal of the dark grey and yellow seats. The door trim and floor mats will also have a similar design, and this will help them match the exteriors well. The pickup will be suitable for first responders and emergency units. It will be rightly equipped with a host of airbags, anti-lock wheels, rescue kit, life jackets, and oxygen tanks. The portable batteries that it will probably carry help in charging heavy lifters and other machinery. Flared wheel arches, LED roof lighting, and extra-groovy off-road tyres may also be featured.
It will be priced at around £28,075 exclusive of the VAT (which comes to approximately RM 1,50,400). The basic model will have a manual gearbox. However, there will be an option of automatic gearbox too that will come at £29,525. The Navara N-Guard will come with a 5-year or 1,00,000-miles warranty and is expected to be a great workhorse! The sad news is, there is no information of it being available outside Europe as of now.
