Next-gen Nissan Navara to be introduced by 2025

KUALA LUMPUR: The ongoing Nissan Navara has been in the market for quite some time now. The pickup was first introduced in 2014 and since then it has provided platforms for pickups by other manufacturers like Renault (for Alaskan) and Mercedes-Benz (for the X-Class).

Further justifying the need for an update is its rivals that in recent times have been tuned with the latest features and technologies, for example, the all-new Isuzu D-Max. Thus making the Navara seem outdated.

As per a Philippines-based auto portal, the all-new Navara model would be manufactured in Thailand, starting 2025. So, the waiting period is pretty long, our best guess for the Malaysian market is 2026. As prior to that we see clues of the next-gen Navara’s arrival.

The ongoing Navara would thus have to wait for its retirement and continue to serve the customers until at least four years. In between, Nissan might introduce a few updates to keep the model at par with the competition, but nothing is confirmed.

Nissan Malaysia currently offers the Navara pickup in six trim levels, the price for which starts from RM 91,900 for the base single cab variant and goes all the way up to RM 142,200 for the range topping Navara PRO-4X model.

All the six Navara variants are powered by a 2.5-litre turbo diesel engine that pumps out 163/190 hp and 450/403 Nm, depending on the model selected. The power is sent to the wheels via either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed automatic transmission.
