New Volvo S60 to hit the Malaysian market soon

KUALA LUMPUR: The new Volvo S60 has been teased again, which means that it will hit the Malaysian shores very soon. The second teaser of the car gives a hint that it will be launched in Q3 2019. The S60 is the first Volvo, which is made in the United States and started the global distribution in the second quarter of this year. The regional hub of the luxury vehicles brand is located in Malaysia, and the S60 will roll off the Shah Alam plant for exports to Thailand.

The S60 T8 Twin Engine and S60 T6 AWD R-Design ( revealed in the teaser) were displayed last year by the international press drive in the United States. It is not expected that the Polestar-tweaked car, which churns out 405 hp/670 Nm and is loaded with branded kit such as Brembo six-pot brakes and Ohlins adjustable suspension will arrive in the Malaysian market.

Moving to the Volvo S60 T6 AWD, it comes equipped with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder Drive-E motor. The engine gets a turbocharger and supercharger that aid the engine in putting out 310 hp of maximum power and 400 Nm of peak torque. The power is sent to the wheels via an Aisin eight-speed conventional automatic transmission.

Design-wise, it flaunts a stunning exterior looks that will surely turn heads when you hit the streets. Globally, there will be three trim levels - base Momentum, luxury Inscription, and sporty R-Design. In addition to that, the Malaysian market is likely to feature the sporty R-Design. The red car that is shown in the teaser is a V60 R-Design variant. However, if you are into wagons, you can opt for V60, which looks very attractive and has been spotted in the Malaysian roads more than once.
