New Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid bookings open in Malaysia - What’s new?

KUALA LUMPUR: UMW Toyota is geared up to introduce the upgraded version of the Corolla Cross Hybrid in Malaysia. The automaker has started accepting bookings for the new electrified SUV, with the launch expected to be held at the upcoming KL International Motorshow (KLIMS).

UMW Toyota has announced the estimated pricing and key upgrades for the new Corolla Cross Hybrid, enhancing its appeal in the hybrid SUV segment. 

New Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid Price

The new Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid is likely to come in two versions - the standard Corolla Cross Hybrid and the Corolla Cross HEV GR Sport. The estimated price begins at RM 140,000. 

New Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid: key upgrades 

New front grille and headlights

The upgraded SUV boasts a new front grille featuring geometric upper portion and sleek side panels, offering the vehicle a bold, and dynamic appearance. Also, part of the upgrade is redesigned full LED headlights.

EV mode and Drive mode switch

The new Corolla Cross Hybrid benefits from an EV mode and Drive mode switch. The EV Mode offers pure electric driving for short distances and reduces emissions while the Drive Mode Switch lets the driver customise performance settings with Eco and Sport modes.

Electric parking brake

Toyota also replaced the traditional foot pedal brake with an electronic parking brake, which comes mated to an auto brake hold function. This upgraded system allows the driver to engage the brake with a button and automatically release it when accelerating for added convenience.

New infotainment unit

The latest model also replaces the predecessor's 9-inch infotainment unit with a larger 10.1-inch Display Audio system. It supports wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto for a convenient and personalised driving experience.

3D Panoramic View Monitor

With the new Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid, the automaker offers a 3D Panoramic View Monitor (PVM) that provides a detailed 360° view of the vehicle, making it easier to manoeuvre in tight spaces.

Upgraded Vehicle Telematics System

Furthermore, it gets a new Vehicle Telematics System (VTS) with Remote Engine Start (RES) that allows you to start your vehicle remotely using the Toyota MY App.

New colour palette

The upgraded colour palette of the new Corolla Cross Hybrid includes five options - Dark Turquoise (new), Celestite Grey Metallic, Red Mica Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, and Silver Metallic.

The GR Sport version is offered in three dual-tone schemes paired with a black roof – Platinum White Pearl, Red Mica Metallic, and Dark Turquoise.

The upcoming Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid is likely to come equipped with the same 1.8-litre naturally-aspirated inline-four petrol hybrid engine, generating a maximum power of 122 PS. Power is sent to the front wheels via the E-CVT gearbox.
