New Mercedes-Benz GLA exhibit its practical seats
KUALA LUMPUR: Mercedes-Benz continues to tease its second-generation GLA. This new GLA is all set to debut the market on December 11.
The compact crossover’s new seat layout has been introduced recently. The new GLA will be adapting a 40:20:40 rear seat layout instead of the previous generations 60:40 arrangement. The vehicle is set to provide owners with more configurability when it comes to boot space.
The new seat layout is similar to the GLB and has sliding and reclining capabilities just like the GLA. The new vehicle will be 100mm taller than its predecessor, providing more room for passengers and possibly the cargo.
The added flexibility should bring the Mercedes-Benz crossover closer to the BMW X1 and Audi Q3, which are its rival SUVs. The dashboard of the car is set to carry the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX), which is similar to the other compact models like the A-Class and CLA, as per another teaser suggestion.
The previous generation of the GLA offers diesel and a petrol engine variant and is available with automatic transmission. The diesel model of the GLA comes with a 2.2-litre engine, producing a maximum power of 172hp and up to 350Nm of torque.
The petrol model comes with a 2.0-lite petrol engine, producing a maximum power of 185hp with up to 300Nm of peak torque. Both the engine models come mated with a seven-speed gearbox.
