New 3-Door Range Rover SV Coupe unveiled at Geneva Motor Show
KUALA LUMPUR: The Land Rover has unveiled the new Range Rover at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show on Tuesday. The SUV comes with some modern styling and features and depicts the perfect interpretation of the original Range Rover. It will be launched as the Range Rover SV Coupe. However, this new model will be available in limited numbers only.
The original Land Rover Range Rover was first launched in 1970 in the three-door guise only. The designing of the SUV is taken care of by Jaguar Land Lover’s SVO (Special Vehicles Operations) team, which is responsible for the modern styling.
The Land Rover Range Rover SV Coupe is designed to be more dashing, albeit the retention of the signature front module. You can see the similar side faces, which have the rear windows slimmer than the front ones. And guess what, it is similar to the ancestral Range Rover with just three doors.
Step inside the SUV and you will be greeted by posh scenes. There are two big screens, 12-inch and 10-inch, replacing the instrumental buttons. Such set-up was also seen on the Velar, which was launched last year. There is a head-up display too, thereby completing the entire dashboard console.
Under the hood, this new Land Rover Range Rover SUV will get the same 5.0-litre, V8 supercharged engine as seen in the standard Range Rover. With this, there would be a humongous 565 PS power along with 700 Nm torque. And needless to say, the power figures are enough for the SUV to hit an accelerating 0 to 100 kmph in just five seconds.
The three-door Range Rover SUV has adjustable air suspensions. This means the user can raise the suspension or lower it depending on his convenience. Basically, the suspension is raised in order to increase the ground clearance, in case the car is on an undulating terrain.
Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, the Range Rover SUV will be available in a plug-in hybrid version for those who are looking for an electric Rover. The starting price of the Range Rover SV Coupe could be from £240,000 (RM 1,300,536).
