Mercedes C-Class and S-Class to get MBUX Zero Layer via OTA update

KUALA LUMPUR: Mercedes-Benz is offering MBUX Zero Layer via an over-the-air update to C-Class and S-Class owners. While the former concerns series 206 from March to June 2021 construction period, the latter is series 223 Maybach model from June to November 2021 construction phase.

The availability of the MBUX Zero Layer system depends on several factors like - vehicle setting, individual configuration, the car’s technical specifications, and market.

In the latest OTA update Mercedes-Benz AG chief software officer, Magnus Östberg said, “We have been offering over-the-air updates since 2013. The update to the Zero Layer offers a 100% personalized and intuitive user experience, with all relevant functions always in view. The modern look helps to keep the vehicle up-to-date and – as is typical of Mercedes – retain value”.

• A larger map view
• Intuitively operated individual selection tiles without the need to scroll through sub-menus
• The system gets to know the driver and remembers the typical settings

• It even offers personalized information, vehicle & comfort functions at appropriate moments, all tailored as per the driving situation. The driver has the choice not to accept the suggestion via the ‘Do not suggest now’ or ‘Do not suggest again’ functions
• After the update, the screen will have navigation at the center, next to radio/media and telephony functionality

• The update automatically offers more than 20 additional features via artificial intelligence. For instance, during long-distance journeys, the system will offer relaxing massage, suggest when a phone call is due, and even offer status queries from connected smart home devices

The MBUX Zero Layer OTA update installation notification will be displayed on the MBUX infotainment screen of the concerned models and also via the Mercedes me app.
