Taking center stage at the event is the Mercedes-AMG C63S E Performance F1 Edition , which made its global debut at the end of 2022 and is now officially available in Malaysia.
Retailing at RM958,888, the most complex C-Class model ever made sees Mercedes-AMG replacing the powerful 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbocharged engine with a 2.0-litre inline-four turbocharged engine paired with an electric motor. Although this might seem like a downgrade, the new setup delivers an impressive 680 PS and 1,020 Nm of torque, thanks to its F1-inspired turbo technology and hybrid power system.
The advanced powertrain includes an electric motor on the rear axle, enabling the C63S to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 250 km/h, extendable to 280 km/h with the AMG Driver’s Package. With a 6.1-kWh lithium-ion battery, the vehicle can also travel up to 13 km on electric power alone.
The hybrid system is mated to a nine-speed multi-clutch automatic transmission and 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive system offering a Drift Mode, just like the brand’s other AWD models.
Design-wise, the all-new Mercedes-AMG C63 S E Performance looks meaner than its predecessor with huge lower air intakes, a power-bulge on the hood, and flared wheel arches. The front appears longer than the standard C-Class to accommodate the cooling system.
Taking the car’s sportiness to new levels is a slightly lowered stance, side skirts, a prominent diffuser, a large boot lid spoiler, and trapezoidal-shaped exhaust outlets. It rolls on 20-inch wheels shod with performance tyres as standard.
Further, confirming the identity of the model are several exclusive badges like a red-accented C63 badge, an AMG emblem on the bonnet, and E Performance emblems.
The interior of the performance C-Class is kitted either with AMG sports seats or second-gen AMG Performance seats wrapped in Nappa leather upholstery with contrasting accents. Other key inclusions being - Mercedes-Benz User Experience infotainment system with AMG-specific dual displays, AMG Performance steering wheel with drive mode dials and a head-up display.
Mercedes-AMG GLB35 4Matic
The facelifted GLB35 4Matic also made its debut, showcasing its refreshed design and enhanced performance. Retailing at RM418,888, the 7 seater retains its robust 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-four engine, but now includes a belt-driven starter generator that adds an extra 14 PS during acceleration.
Paired with an eight-speed AMG Speedshift dual-clutch automatic transmission and AMG Performance 4Matic all-wheel drive, the GLB35 achieves a 0-100 km/h time of 5.5 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h. The updated model features new headlamps, a revised front apron, and an upgraded Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) system.
The AMG GLB 35 4MATIC is equipped with sports seats upholstered in ARTICO man-made leather / MICROCUT microfibre and the Star Pattern backlit trim interacts with the ambient lighting. The AMG GLB 35 4MATIC features a 10.25-inch MBUX multimedia system and a 10.25-inch all-digital instrument display. Apple Car Play and Android Auto can be connected wirelessly to the vehicle.
Mercedes-AMG GLA45S 4Matic+
Rounding out the trio was the RM539,888 facelifted GLA45S 4Matic+, which combines striking aesthetics with raw power. Powered by the M139 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine, the GLA45S delivers 421 PS and 500 Nm of torque.
This potent setup allows the compact SUV to sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 270 km/h. The facelifted GLA45S features a new front apron design, body-colored wheel arch extensions, new LED headlamps, and the latest MBUX system.
The interior features the latest generation of the AMG Performance steering wheel in Nappa leather with buttons that stand out with bright displays and an intuitive operating logic and dual 10.25-inch displays and with its new AMG-specific screen design and extended range of functions incorporated with MBUX infotainment system is which also features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
There's also an interesting AMG Real Performance Sound enhancer that makes the AMG GLA 45 S 4MATIC+ sound even more emotional as the driver can determine how the turbo engine sounds in the interior.
