Major Investment for Long-Term Regional Growth
Mercedes-Benz has demonstrated its commitment to Malaysia’s economic landscape with a substantial paid-up capital of RM189 million for the RLCM, which is expected to grow further, reaching RM1.5 billion by 2035. This phased investment is set to expand the center’s operational capacity, supporting business growth across the Asia-Pacific region.
Cutting-Edge Facility and Focus on Sustainability
Occupying over one million square feet, the RLCM employs state-of-the-art technology to enhance handling, flexibility, and workflow, positioning it as a leader in logistics within the region. The facility manages a diverse range of products, including spare parts, accessories, and workshop tools, catering to Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars and Vans.
The RLCM integrates advanced logistics technologies, such as an in-house warehouse management system, specialized forklifts, and Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) systems to maximize space. With future enhancements like automated storage solutions, drones, and autonomous cleaning robots, the center is set to maintain a leading role in logistics innovation.
Aligned with Mercedes-Benz's global sustainability goals, the RLCM aims for carbon neutrality by 2039. The center features a photovoltaic (PV) system for renewable energy, has earned Green Building Index (GBI) certification, and follows stringent Environmental, Social, and Governance Reporting Standards (ESRS) for transparency and environmental impact. In addition, the RLCM complies with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards for Quality and Environmental Management.
Local Talent Development and Economic Contributions
The RLCM’s presence in Malaysia brings substantial economic benefits, creating high-value jobs and offering comprehensive training programs in logistics and supply chain management. By empowering local talent, Mercedes-Benz is not only building its workforce but also contributing to Malaysia’s position as an essential logistics hub in the Asia-Pacific region.
