Mercedes-Benz: Malaysia’s Pekan plant strikes production of 25,000th commercial vehicle
Kuala Lumpur: Today Mercedes-Benz Malaysia's Pekan plant striked the production of its 25,000th Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle (CV). This is a clear indication that the elite German automaker doesn't only assemble the C-Class, S-Class and E-Class luxury saloons in Malaysia.

Being one of only 9 Daimler CKD commercial vehicle production facilities globally, MBM's Pekan plant is ranged across 19,000 square metres and the CV production line is operated by 176 employess, with a present capacity of 4,000 units a year. It reflects Daimler AG's truck assembly plant in Germany, Worth- the world's largest facility of its kind in production and tech procedure.

“Today has been about recognising our Pekan production plant, and the initiatives undertaken to master the commercial vehicle production line which ultimately produces vehicles of the highest quality. Going beyond passenger vehicles, we hope to further cement our presence in the country as a committed investor in the Malaysian commercial vehicles segment,” said MBM’s VP of commercial vehicles, Albert Yee.
Counting the largest Actros model, Pekan produces a diversified range of CV's. MBM's has a market share of 16.4%, and its presently the best selling mode is the six by two Mercedes-Benz MP3 Actros 2640LS. Multinational Corporations and diversified organisations have been supplied with CVs through this company. Also incorporating hospitals, fire stations and rescue services. The after-sales support is provided by 14 service centres countrywide.
