Mercedes-Benz Malaysia launches 2024 AMG G-Class, GLE, SL, and GLC Models

KUALA LUMPUR:  Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has unveiled six new models in its luxury showcase, aiming to reinforce its place at the top of the high-end automotive market.

Among the lineup are the rugged Mercedes-AMG G-Class and the streamlined GLC Coupé, designed to showcase the brand’s approach to luxury, technology, and performance.

Each model targets drivers looking for high-end engineering and sophistication in their vehicles.

Trimmel underscored that the new lineup focuses on “Mercedes moments” that combine innovation with craftsmanship.

The showcase lineup includes the powerful and rugged Mercedes-AMG G 63 SUV, known for its off-road capability, and the fast, refined AMG SL 63 4MATIC+ roadster.

The G 63 stands out for its robust design and performance, while the SL 63 4MATIC+ combines speed with luxury.

The AMG GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ and its Coupé version bring high power and all-terrain versatility, appealing to SUV enthusiasts.

For efficiency-focused drivers, the GLC 350 e 4MATIC Coupé offers plug-in hybrid technology with significant electric range, and the AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupé delivers sporty handling in a compact SUV form.

Mercedes-AMG G 63

The Mercedes-AMG G 63 remains one of the most recognizable luxury SUVs on the market, known for its rugged design and potent performance. Equipped with a 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine, the G 63 generates 585 hp and 850 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h time of 4.4 seconds.

 It can hit a top speed of 240 km/h with the optional AMG Performance Package. The G 63’s distinctive AMG styling, along with practical features like active multi-contour seats and a carbon-fibre trim interior, make it an option for those seeking power in a premium, off-road-ready package.

Mercedes-AMG SL 63 4MATIC+

The Mercedes-AMG SL 63 4MATIC+ is a modern take on the classic roadster, built for speed and luxury. It’s powered by a hand-assembled 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine delivering 585 hp and 800 Nm of torque, enabling it to go from 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 315 km/h. 

With AMG rear-axle steering and other advanced driving tech, the SL 63 combines sporty handling with high-end materials like nappa leather seats. This model is tailored for those who prioritize both performance and high-end detailing in an open-top format.

Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ & GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ Coupé

The Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ and its Coupé counterpart bring AMG’s powerful performance to the SUV category. Both versions come with a 4.0-litre V8 engine producing 612 hp and 850 Nm of torque, giving them a 0-100 km/h time of 3.9 seconds. 

The interior includes essentials like climate-controlled seats, high-end nappa leather, and tech features like the Burmester audio system. 

With a top speed of 280 km/h (thanks to the AMG Driver’s Package), these models appeal to buyers looking for a high-performance SUV that can handle a range of road conditions without sacrificing comfort.

Mercedes-Benz GLC 350 e 4MATIC Coupé

The GLC 350 e 4MATIC Coupé is Mercedes-Benz’s plug-in hybrid offering for those seeking a balance of style and efficiency. Its hybrid system provides 313 hp and 550 Nm of torque, with over 100 km of all-electric range (WLTP) and a top electric speed of 140 km/h. 

The model includes AMG Line styling elements and features a practical panoramic sliding sunroof and adaptive high-beam assist. It’s aimed at drivers who want a stylish, eco-conscious SUV without compromising on Mercedes-Benz luxury and brand aesthetics.

Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupé

With the AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupé, Mercedes offers a more compact performance SUV, featuring a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that generates 421 hp and 500 Nm of torque. 

Capable of going from 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds, it includes AMG-specific design elements, a 48-volt mild-hybrid boost, and high-tech features like MBUX navigation. 

This model is built for those who prioritize a sportier, performance-driven SUV experience without stepping up to a larger vehicle size.

The new models will be on display at the Mercedes-Benz Autohaus in Mutiara Damansara from November 5th to 10th, 2024. Visitors can explore the latest in Mercedes-Benz luxury and performance firsthand, with test drive opportunities available.
