Mercedes-Benz Malaysia introduces W247 B200 Progressive Line
KUALA LUMPUR: Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has introduced the new W247 B-Class for the domestic market. The 3rd-generation car will arrive in a single version, namely B200 Progressive Line in Malaysia.
Coming to the features, the new B200 Progressive Line borrows interior features like air-conditioning vents, centre console layout and climate control switchgear from the A-Class. However, the dash gets its own design. The framing of two freestanding screens of 10.25-inch is the differential factor. Other than that, there’s a black paint job inside the car.
The other notable features include comfort seats, Artico leather upholstery, sports steering wheel with leather wrapping, ten colour themes, and 64-colour ambient lighting. Moreover, there is an MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) multimedia system having the voice control that can be activated by saying “Hey Mercedes”.
At the front, the new W247 B200 Progressive Line gets LED headlamps along with the radiator grille having silver-painted twin louvre and chrome inserts. The car comes with a range of styling equipment that includes:
- A front apron with a chrome insert
- Chrome trim strip
- 18-inch five-twin spoke light-alloy wheels
- Side sill panels
- Rear bumper with a black lower section
Mercedes-Benz B200 Progressive Line is powered by the M282 DE 14 LA 1.33 litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that can make a maximum power of 161 hp coming at 5,500 rpm, while the peak torque is 250 Nm coming at 1,620 to 4,000 rpm. The engine is coupled with a Getrag seven-speed dual-clutch (wet) gearbox. With this engine, the car can achieve the speed of 100 kmph from stationary in just 8.2 seconds and can hit a top speed of 233 kmph.
