Mercedes-Benz Malaysia introduces new Extended Limited Warranty plans

KUALA LUMPUR: While purchasing a car, the price, rebate, and new features are usually among the key considerations, with ownership and maintenance costs coming in last. With the significance of the latter in mind, Mercedes-Benz has introduced the upgraded Extended Limited Warranty Programme in Malaysia in association with Mercedes-Benz Services Malaysia.

Offering customers extended peace of mind along with an enhanced overall ownership experience, the programme is available for cars that are running in their fifth and sixth year. It is offered for a variety of models, including the A-Class, B-Class, C-Class, E-Class, S-Class, CLA, CLS, SL, AMG 35, AMG 45, AMG 43, and AMG 53.

The two different types of plans available under the programme are Essential and Comprehensive, which can be opted for a 1-year or 2-year subscription at a price ranging between  RM 1,488 and RM 17,888. The benefits include -

• Essential plan - A total claimable value of RM 125,000 for the fifth or sixth year, which increases to RM 200,000 in the case of the combined fifth- and sixth-year coverage. It provides coverage for the engine, brakes, air-conditioning, FWD and RWD system, power windows, steering, suspension and transmission 
• Comprehensive plan: A total claimable value of RM 150,000 for the fifth or sixth, increasing up to RM 250,000 with the combined option. It adds nine more components to the parts covered under the Essential plan, including active and passive safety components,  sensors, audio system, ECU and tyre pressure monitoring system, airmatic struts, instrument cluster, and other electrical components

Any of these plans can be bought by the owners of new and pre-owned Mercedes-Benz cars within the first four years of the vehicle purchase. 

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia ensures that the parts replaced under the Extended Limited Warranty programme will be further covered by the 24-month Mercedes-Benz Parts Guarantee. It will allow free replacement/repair at any authorised Mercedes-Benz service centre beyond the warranty term.

In addition, the programme offers unlimited mileage coverage for vehicles with a maximum mileage of 125,000 km before the start of the fifth year and 150,000 km before the start of the sixth year prior to enrolling in the programme.
