Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Kuala Lumpur returns bigger with latest fashion trends
KUALA LUMPUR: Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Kuala Lumpur (MBFWKL) returns for the year 2021 marking the show's third installation overall. The show brought together the biggest names in the fashion industry (local, regional and international) displaying their latest collection.
MBFWKL is a platform for upcoming designers in the local fashion industry, giving them a chance to put forward their collection in front of the fashion world and the elite. This year over 1000 guests attended the three-day event at the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre show. The attendees ranged from celebrities, local designers, fashion muses, socialites, key opinion leaders, fashion-forward customers and Mercedes-Benz fans.

MBFWKL affirms how important trendsetting design, modern luxury, and pioneering innovations are to the German automaker. Overall, the link between the Mercedes-Benz class-leading cars and the cutting-edge fashion world are creativity, technical expertise, and craftsmanship.
This year Mercedes-Benz came up with MBFWKL Fashion Futures Design Competition on the final night. It is an independent competition that will take place yearly and will target Malaysian designers with 6 months to 4 years of experience in the fashion industry. The finalists would be required to come up with four sets of ready-to-wear looks that will be judged on the Fashion Futures runway. The winner will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to an international Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week event.
As for the Mercedes-Benz design philosophy, the brand has been following the Sensual Purity design philosophy since 2009 which over the years have evolved and encapsulated an essential aspect of product designs. Also, the brand remains committed to the sustainable future of luxury design and proactively works to future-proof the responsible growth of its fashion partnerships.
Over the years through its fashion programs and creative collaborations, Mercedes-Benz has supported nearly 170 designers over 30 platforms globally.
