KUALA LUMPUR: In the growing list of the top luxury electric vehicles on sale in Malaysia, a new name is going to be added soon and that’s the Mercedes-Benz EQS. We recently spotted a dedicated page for the Mercedes-Benz EQS on the official MBM website with a link for interested enthusiasts to register their interest, hinting at the imminent launch of EV.

Mercedes-Benz offers the EQS in different electric motor options with output ranging from 292 PS to 761 PS.The EQS will be the automaker’s next big EV introduction in Malaysia as it launched the EQA in a single variant just last week retailing at a price of RM 278,201 (on the road without insurance).

While the automaker has not yet given any hint on the EQS arrival date and the local specifications, here is what we expect from the Malaysian-spec EQS to offer.
Mercedes-Benz offers the electric car in three regular guises - EQS 350, EQS 450+ and EQS 580 4Matic. The base spec is fitted with a rear electric motor delivering a maximum power output of 292 PS and a peak torque of 565 Nm, while the mid-spec delivers up to 333 PS. Sitting at the top of the range, the EQS 580 comes with dual motors making 523 PS and 855 Nm. Besides these regular models, there is also an AMG EQS 53 4Matic+ that kicks out a whooping 761 PS and 1,020 Nm output levels.
Of these four models, the chances of EQS 580 arrival in Malaysia are high as it will be the automaker's flagship EV in the country. Coupled with a 107.8 kWh battery pack, this version will let you drive up to 676 km on a single charge.
On the features front, the Malaysian-spec EQS is likely to get Digital Light LED headlamps, a 56-inch curved MBUX Hyperscreen, rear entertainment screens, power-adjustable front, and rear seats, an Android rear tablet, advanced sound system, auto air conditioning system, and several advanced-driver assistance bits.
