Mercedes-Benz EQA - What's on offer?
Finally, Mercedes-Benz has launched the pure-electric EAQ SUV. Based on the conventional fuel-powered GLA, the EQA is the third model in the brand's EQ lineup that consists of EQV and EQC. In the near future, the GLB based EQB will join this lineup.
As mentioned above, the EQA is based on the GLA SUV and this fact is very well visible to the naked eyes as well. The two share the same structure and body panels (almost all). However, there are a few clues that'll help you distinguish the two cars. For instance, the EQA's front fascia gets a closed-off gloss-black grille, tapered headlights, and gloss-black badges on the fender.
Let's now study each element of the EQA EV from design to performance to safety specs -
- Mercedes-Benz EQA design highlights -
- Full-LED lamps with blue detailing (consistent with EQ brand)
- Eyebrow daytime running lights joined by a single fiber optic strip
- Rear conjoined lighting unit
- GLA-like rectangular tail light
- 18-inch alloy wheels
EQA AMG Line model is also on offer, and like with other Mercedes models it too makes the car look sportier. It brings along features like a sportier front and rear bumper, double louvre grille, and up to 20-inch wheels with either blue or rose gold finish.
Further, the EQA is designed keeping in mind all the laws of aerodynamics. Its drag coefficient of 0.28 is possible due to design modifications/inclusions like aero wheels, cleaner front and rear fascia, optimised underbody panelling, active air intake, and improved headlight and radiator sealing.
