Mercedes-AMG E63 S leaked ahead of official reveal in Geneva
KUALA LUMPUR: The BMW M5 rival has been leaked ahead of its official unveiling at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, which is scheduled to take place from March 7 to March 17, 2020. A rear image of the facelifted E63 S was leaked last night by an Instagram user, Cochespias revealing a lot about the sports sedan.
The leaked image shows that the new Mercedes-AMG E63 S will come with new sleek-looking and wider tail lamps, a reprofiled rear bumper garnished with some extra chrome, a new diffuser, and quad-pipes. Further, there is a chrome finisher strip that makes the sedan look even classier. Hope that you’d spot the rear boot spoiler in the image along with a probable full-glass panoramic roof.
Though we don’t have an interior picture to publish, on the inside, the latest AMG will come with a new multi-function steering wheel with touch-pad controls, a 10.25-inch MBUX infotainment system with natural-speak voice control and a Siri-style assistant, and a new air quality indicator. All of which come from the recent E-class.
Under the hood, it is likely that the new AMG sedan will feature a 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbocharged mild-hybrid powertrain complied with Euro emission norms. If that goes the case, we’d see a small Li-ion battery, an electric compressor and an integrated starter-generator fitted between the engine and transmission. The setup will be good for 612 PS and 800 Nm of power and torque, respectively. It would then take close three seconds to touch 100 Kmph from a standstill.
As a part of E-class, the facelifted E63 S is likely to gain safety features like active brake assist, active steering assist, advanced semi-autonomous cruise control, and a 360-degree parking camera.
The German automaker is also likely to bring in the new AMG E53, to be positioned below the E63 S, that would generate a max power of 435 PS and a peak torque of 520 Nm. As for the launch of the AMG E63 S, it is set to go on sale in the fourth quarter of the ongoing year. Rest of the details will be revealed at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show. Stay tuned with us for more details.
