Mercedes AMG C 63 S Launched in Malaysia
Kuala Lumpur: After much teasing and spyshots, Mercedes AMG C 63 S has arrived in Malaysia. This new performance sedan is the most powerful one in its segment. Mercedes Benz Malaysia has already started taking bookings for this model. At a local launch event, Mark Raine, Vice President, Sales & Marketing - Passenger Cars, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia, said “The C 63 AMG in the 2014 series was the best-selling AMG model. We are continuing this success story with the new Mercedes-AMG C 63, and are very proud to be introducing this to the Malaysian customers. On the outside, it has got a more aggressive look as compared to other models available in Malaysia. Mercedes has placed a strong emphasis on sportiness while designing C63. Its long aluminium bonnet is embellished with two prominent power domes that is further emphasized by the low arrow-shaped 'twin blade' radiator grille with AMG lettering on it. The side profile of the car is further accentuated by flared front wheel-arches while the rear end is equipped with AMG rear bumper in carbon-fibre, bootlid spoiler and quad exhaust pipers. A wide range of wheel options are also available with C 63 S. The 19-inch AMG nine-dual Y-spoke wheels are available in a high-sheen chrome finish or a matt-black finish surrounded by Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires measuring 245/35 R19 for front and 265/35 R19 for rear end. Apart from the standard brakes, an option of high-performance ceramic composite braking system is also provided for the front axle. Its presence would be marked by 'AMG Carbon Ceramic' lettering on the gold brake calipers. An option of six different exterior colours are also provided with polar white, designo diamond white bright, iridium silver metallic, palladium silver metallic, obsidian black metallic, and the AMG-specific finish, designo iridium silver magno.
Moving towards the interior, the dashboard is covered in a black Artico man-made leather with stitching in crystal grey. A brushed aluminium trim runs across the face of the dash behind the free-standing display screen. Further, the main console also features controls for the air-conditioning system and display screen. The multi-function display screen within the instrument cluster also feature some unique AMG features like lap timer and other performance gauges. The performance seats offer increased lateral support and heavily contoured buckets along with lower seating position. Further, these seats are also upholstered in Artico man-made leather/Dinamica microfibre with AMG badges on headrests.

Beneath the hood, it is powered by hand-made 4.0-litre Biturbo V8 engine dubbed as M117. This robust engine is capable of churning a maximum power of 510 hp at 5500-6250 rpm along with a commanding torque of 700 Nm at 1750-6250 rpm. Further, it is mated to an AMG Speedshift MCT seven-speed sports automatic transmission which sends its power to the rear wheels. There is also a Race mode available which sends all of the car's systems into full attack mode. From a position of halt, it reaches an acceleration of 100 kmph in just 4 seconds along with a top speed of 250 kmph which can be further increased to 290 kmph with optional AMG Driver's Package.
An additional Edition 1 package can also be opted which includes a spoiler lip in high-gloss black, chrome-plated exhaust tailpipes, red highlights for the radiator grille, exterior side mirrors and matte black wheels, along with side sports stripes in matte graphite grey above the side sill panels. The interior gets Edition 1 upgrades with ed designo seat belts, Edition 1 lettering on the steering bezel in silver chrome and door centre panels in diamond-pattern black nappa leather with red contrasting stitching. The dashboard trim can also be opted in either red pepper carbon-fibre or light longitudinal-grain aluminium.
Talking about the pricing, the C 63 S is given a price of RM698,888(OTR without insurance) while the Edition 1 demands an additional RM25,000 with total price coming to RM723,888.
