Mercedes-AMG accidentally reveals C118 CLA 45

KUALA LUMPUR: If rumours are to be believed, the Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 has been accidentally revealed. According to a report, the car can be seen in CLA 35 online configurator’s Night package section. Only the rear side of the car can be seen in the photos, and it looks like the CLA 45 can borrow some designing cues from CLA 35.

The Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 is apparently the hotter version of C118 Mercedes-Benz CLA. We have already seen the car in a few spy shots, but this is the first time we can see a detailed rear view of the car.

The “CLA 45” emblem that is located at the rear right portion of the car is further joined by another character shaped like the English alphabet “S”. This coincides with the rumors suggesting that the “45” version of the Mercedes-AMG’s compact cars will be available in two different variants, including the standard variant and a more powerful “S” variant, same as the new A 45.

The appearance of the boot-mounted spoiler is now more prominent, and quad exhausts are similar like the development cars. In comparison to the CLA 35, the CLA 45 now has a busier-looking diffuser section.

In terms of performance, it is expected that the new CLA 45 will get similar power output like the new A 45. The new A 45 can produce a maximum power of 387 PS, while the top-spec variant, A 45 S can make 421 PS of power. Both the variants are powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, but different tunings result into different outputs.
