Meet MG EXE181 electric hypercar - 0-100 kmph in 1.9 seconds, drag coefficient of 0.181

KUALA LUMPUR: As anticipation builds for the 2024 Beijing Auto Show around the world, MG has made a splash with the unveiling of its latest masterpiece, the EXE181. It is an electric hypercar concept, drawing inspiration from Sir Stirling Moss’s classic MG land-speed record car.

The key highlights of the MG EXE181 EV hypercar are as follows -

• The EV looks sleek, and futuristic and has a striking single-seat monocoque design
• It features an ultra-aerodynamic body, which promises a drag coefficient of just 0.181 cd. This number matches with the 2022 Mercedes-Benz Vision EQXX and surpasses the Mercedes-Benz EQS’s 0.20 Cd and 2013 Volkswagen XL1’s 0.19 figures
• On the front, the upper section of the EV incorporates an innovative glass panel, offering a unique view of the steering and suspension assembly while enhancing the futuristic appeal

• The front and rear fenders rise dramatically, adding a sense of dynamism to the EV’s overall design
• Other notable design elements include enclosed wheels and air brakes positioned strategically behind the front wheels and atop the rear haunches, contributing to enhanced braking performance
• The driver is enveloped in a wrap-around glass cockpit, featuring minimal physical control surfaces and a central display providing essential vehicle data for optimal performance

• The concept is equipped with electric motors at each wheel
• MG promises that the EXE181 will deliver over 1000 bhp and accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 1.9 seconds
• While the exact top speed remains undisclosed, the automaker suggests it could exceed 400 kmph
• The EV is kitted with twin on-board gyros that ensure stability at high speeds.

The EXE181 is geared up to steal the show at the upcoming Beijing Auto Show, set to be held from April 25 to May 5, 2024.
