Meet Mercedes-Benz Cars Malaysia's new Vice President, Bettina Plangger

KUALA LUMPUR: A new senior leadership appointment has been made by Mercedes-Benz Malaysia. The company gets a new Vice President in the form of Bettina Plangger who will also head marketing and sales at Mercedes-Benz Cars Malaysia & SEA II effective 17th April 2023.

“This is indeed an opportune time as the Malaysian automotive industry is undergoing dynamic progress, especially with the country steering towards electric mobility. I’m excited and truly geared up in engaging with our leadership team locally and globally, aligning with our Ambition 2039 towards the future of mobility, in support of the sustainability and digitization of the Malaysian automotive market,” said Bettina Plangger, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Mercedes-Benz Cars Malaysia & SEA II.

A little about the new appointment -

Bettina started her career in 2000 at Daimler AG where she worked in product management. Her subsequent role in the company consisted of positions in Marketing & Sales, she undertook market management responsibility for Eastern European markers.

In 2016, she was Head of Sales at Fleetboard, where she was responsible for 35 markets globally. Then in 2018, she took over Mercedes-Benz‘s owned retail in Augsburg and was instrumental in implementing the new retail brand concept at all customer touchpoints.

Overall, it looks like the company’s sales and marketing duties have gone into very capable hands. And we can expect to see great growth and transformation under Plangger’s leadership.
