What is a Maserati MC edition?
Maserati introduced the MC Edition versions of its three models - Ghibli, Quattroporte, and Levante. MC stands for Maserati Corse: a sporty nature fostered on the track for everyday competition. It pays tribute to the glorious racing history of the brand. What powers the Maserati special MC Edition models?
All Maserati special MC Edition models are powered by the Ferrari-sourced 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 engine.“Victories, trophies, legendary cars and drivers: the world of racing immediately comes to mind when thinking of the Trident Brand, here paying tribute to its glorious history.”
These special edition models are available in two exclusive three-layer paints – Giallo Corse (yellow) and Blu Vittoria (blue). There are the official hues of the marque’s hometown flag.
Further accentuating the beauty of these special Maseratis are piano black detailing, unique rear-wing, blue-painted brake calipers, and gloss black alloy wheels. The latter measures 21-inch on Quattroporte and Ghibli saloons, while 22-inch on Levante SUV. We can also see special badging on the B-pillar and rear.
Inside the cabin, the MC Edition logo is positioned on the headrests, and also there is a special badge placed on the central console.
Besides, the Maserati MC Editions get Nero Pienofiore black leather trim with yellow and blue stitching and denim accents on the upholstery. Moreover, blue carbon fibre elements on the centre console and door cards distinguish these special trims from their regular versions.
With MC Editions, Maserati also offers a Bowers and Wilkins surround-sound system, an electronic sunroof, and a driver-assistance suite to the buyers.
However, when it comes to the mechanical part, things remain the same. That means all these luxury cars are equipped with the Ferrari-sourced 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 engine.
In the Ghibli, the mill kicks out a maximum power output of 572 hp at 6750 rpm and a peak torque of 730 Nm from 2250-5250 rpm. However, for the Quattroporte and Levante, the same engine delivers slightly more power with 580 hp at 6750 rpm.
