Meet BMW’s new hybrid Performance SUV, the X6 M Competition

KUALA LUMPUR: Alongside unveiling the all-new 2023 X5 M Competition, BMW has also pulled the wraps off the upgraded X6 M Competition. The performance-oriented iteration of the upgraded X6 boasts cosmetic tweaks inside and out and a mild-hybrid powertrain. Let’s dive deeper to know the 2023 BMW X6 M Competition in detail -

• The revamped model is powered by a new BMW M TwinPower Turbo 4.4-litre V8 engine paired with new 48V hybrid technology. The latter adds an extra 12 bhp of power and 200 Nm of torque, taking the combined output to 617 bhp and 750 Nm
• The engine comes mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, an M xDrive All-Wheel-Drive system, and the Active M Differential system

• Performance-wise, the hybrid SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.9 seconds and clocks a top speed of 250 kmph. The optional BMW M Driver's Pack can increase the top speed up to 290 kmph
• The X6 M Competition also benefits from a double-wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension setup incorporating adaptive dampers for better handling and steering response

• In terms of exterior, the performance hybrid car looks aggressive as compared to the standard model thanks to muscular bodywork, a larger blacked-out kidney grille, new matrix LED headlights, updated tail lights, and a more subdued lip spoiler
• The coupe-style SUV is kitted with 21-inch M light-alloy wheels at the front and 22-inch M light-alloy wheels at the rear

• Among the key cabin inclusions are M leather-wrapped steering wheel, an M Mode button on the central console, carbon-fibre paddle shifters, a 12.3-inch infotainment system, a 14.9-inch diagonal instrument cluster, M-guise multifunction seats with a heating system, and a full fine-grain Merino leather trim

The production of the 2023 BMW X6 M Competition is slated to begin in Spartanburg, South Carolina, in April 2023, To take home this upgraded coupe-style performance SUV, one will need to shell out an amount of $128,195 (approximately equal to RM 573,584).
