Mazda CX-30’s pricing and specs are out, price starts at RM 143k
KUALA LUMPUR: Following all the wait, excitement, and rumours, Mazda has finally disclosed the pricing and specifications of the all-new CX-30. Set to slot in between the already on offer CX-3 and the CX-5, the CX-30 is another crossover that the Japanese automaker has launched in Malaysia to cater to the increasing demand in the segment.
The latest developments reveal that the Mazda CX-30 will be offered in Malaysia in three variants, 2.0, 2.0 High, and 1.8D High. While the 2.0 and the 2.0 High are petrol-powered models, the 1.8D High, on the other hand, gets its juices from a diesel-fed motor.
The Mazda CX-30 stands 4,395 mm long, 1,795 mm wide, and 1,540 mm tall. The wheelbase is quite long measuring at 2,655 mm. While the entry-level 2.0 trim rides on 16-inch wheels, the other two models sport 18-inch units.
The exterior of the Mazda CX-30 comprises of LED headlights with signature illumination, automatic headlamp operation, automatic headlamp levelling, LED tail lamps with signature illumination, rain-sensing front wipers, powered tailgate, rear wiper, electronically adjustable & retractable ORVMs with turn indicators, sunroof, rear spoiler, Mazda Advance Keyless Entry, and parking sensors at front and back.
On the inside, we find LED interior lighting, dual-zone auto climate control with rear seat vents and controls, 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat, fabric or leather upholstery, and an 8.8-inch touchscreen display that features Mazda Connect with voice control, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, AUX, Bluetooth, eight-speaker audio system, and a reverse camera with width and length guidelines.
Having a good look at the specifications sheet, the petrol models will be housing a 2.0-litre Skyactiv-G petrol mill that makes 163 hp of maximum power at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 213 Nm at 4,000 revs.
Speaking of the diesel-powered engine, it is a 1.8-litre Skyactiv-D mill that is capable of generating 116 PS of maximum power at 4,000 rpm and 270 Nm of peak torque between 1,600 and 2,700 revs. All three models get a six-speed automatic transmission that sends the power to the front wheels. The six-speed automatic gearbox also gets a manual shift mode.
As for the safety, all three variants of the Mazda CX-30 come equipped with front, side, curtain, and driver’s knee SRS airbags, ABS with electronic brake distribution & brake assist, DSC, emergency stop signal, auto hold, traction control, hill start assist, auto door lock,
and seat belt warning, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and engine immobiliser. Moreover, the 2.0 High and the 1.8D trims also flaunt high beam control, blind-spot monitoring system, adaptive front lighting, rear cross-traffic alert, smart brake support, radar-guided cruise control, driver attention alert.
