Mazda CX-3, First Impression and Price Quotation

Kuala Lumpur: The much awaited Japanese crossover Mazda CX-3 is soon to launch officially in Malaysia on December 8. Bookings for the car are already opened, starting CX-3 price is RM131,218 on the road without insurance. The crossover market in Malaysia is quite on the high temperature as the launch is coming near. Honda HR-V has reigned the compact crossover SUV market in Malaysia since its release but now with the excitement prevailing in Malaysian audience for the all-new CX-3 it is speculated that HR-V's reign may come to an end very soon. CX-3 is undoubtedly an all new challenger to the crown.

However, only 2,000 units of the Japanese compact crossover will be sold in Malaysia at first. There are a very high demand and limited units, thus if you are planning to buy the CX-3, book it as soon as possible before the waiting list starts piling up. The next import of the car from Japan will be based on the market response and it will result in long waiting periods.

We got in touch with an exclusive Mazda outlet in Rawang, Selangor and it was reported that the car is available on the first-come-first-serve basis so the later you book, the later you'll get the car. This particular showroom has so far booked 7 units of the CX-3 and there are 63 Mazda dealers around the country, so according to our maths the car is on the roll pretty fast.

The Mazda CX-3 will be powered by a 2.0 L SKYACTIV-G petrol engine producing 146hp along with a maximum torque of 192 Nm. Further, this crossover is anchored to 18-inch five twin-spoke wheels with 215/50 R18 tyres in a gunmetal finish and silver painted exterior trim pieces. Mazda has worked it's best to provide the best technologies in the CX-3. The car features an MZD Connect multimedia unit which is further linked to a 7-inch touchscreen display. Its driver-centric cabin is further assisted by the heads-up display (HUD), paddle shifters and keyless entry and ignition. The car also possesses a huge sunroof making the cabin more airy and roomy. On the safety front, the car is loaded with six airbags (Front, Rear and Side curtain), Anti-lock brakes with EBD, brake assist and hill launch assist.
