Mazda 2 gets an update in Malaysia for 2024

KUALA LUMPUR: Alongside the launch of the new CX-3, Bermaz Motor has also introduced the new Mazda 2 facelift in Malaysia. It is offered in fully imported hatchback and sedan versions, both priced at RM 108,670 (on the road, without insurance).

What does the all-new 2024 Mazda 2 bring to the table, let’s know.

• The car gains a distinctive front look thanks to the new black honeycomb grille featuring a contrasting small red accent
• The slightly tweaked bumper at the rear also features the same sort of red accent, positioned above the chrome exhaust finisher 
• The new Mazda 2 rides on a fresh pair of 16-inch black and chrome alloy wheels

• Also part of the upgraded exterior kit are automatic LED headlights, rain-sensing wiper, and auto-folding side mirrors
• Inside, the dashboard trims are now black, and the seats have a comfy combo of black leatherette and suede with cool red stitching
• Among the newly added interior features are an auto-dimming rear-view mirror and cruise control. Meanwhile, the ongoing standout features consist of a 7-inch infotainment unit, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto compatibility, a coloured head-up display, single-zone automatic climate control, gearshift paddles, keyless entry and start, six speakers, a reverse camera, four rear parking sensors

• Powering the new Mazda 2 is the same 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated inline-four engine that cranks out a maximum power of 114 hp and a peak torque of 149 Nm. Sending power to the front wheels is a 6-speed SkyActiv-Drive automatic gearbox
• The safety kit also remains the same with two airbags, an anti-lock braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution, brake assist, traction control, and an emergency stop signal

• Bermaz Motor offers a total of six colour options for the new Mazda 2, which include a new AirStream Blue shade available only for a hatchback. Other options are - Snowflake White Pearl, Soul Red Crystal (RM 500 extra), Platinum Quartz, Polymetal Gray (hatchback only), and Aero Gray (sedan only)

The bookings of the new Mazda 2 are now underway at all Mazda dealerships nationwide. It comes with a 5-year/100,000 km manufacturer’s warranty and a 5-year/100,000 km free maintenance (including labour, parts, and lubricants).
