Mazda 2 facelift to debut on June 21 in Thailand

KUALA LUMPUR: Mazda introduced the current-gen Mazda 2 back in 2014 with two facelifts introduced to date. The recent one made a debut earlier this year in Japan. Now, Mazda Thailand has confirmed the arrival of this recently facelifted Mazda 2 model on 21st June 2023.

What does the facelifted Mazda 2 hatchback bring to the table?

Variants

The 2023 Mazda 2 facelift will be offered in three trim options, namely

• BD
• Sunlit Citrus
• Sport

Exterior

The Mazda 2 facelift showcases a similar design language as before, however, the hatch now gets a new grille, wheels, and front & rear bumper.

While the base BD and mid-sped Sunlit Citrus trim feature a new EV-like grille along with a coloured deco piece.

As for the interior, the facelifted model showcases the same sporty design as before. However, the mid-spec Sunlit Citrus trim is the one with a Sunlit gold-coloured cabin.

 

Powertrain

The Mazda 2 facelift will be offered in two engine options as before, including - a 1.3-litre Skyactiv-G petrol and the 1.5-litre Skyactiv-G diesel unit.

Mazda 2 in Malaysia

Mazda Malaysia lineup includes Mazda 2 in both hatchback and sedan body types; its price range from RM103,670 to RM104,610. Its engine setup includes a 1.5-litre Skyactiv-G petrol engine.
