Maserati Grecale Folgore electric SUV debuts in China

KUALA LUMPUR: Maserati has pulled the wraps off its first electric SUV, the Grecale Folgore, at the ongoing 2023 Auto Shanghai event. This new Italian model incorporates the ‘Folgore’ badge, which represents the brand’s pure-electric cars. It is the electric counterpart of the standard Grecale that retails in Malaysia for RM 598,000. 

Let’s get to know the key highlights of the all-new Maserati Grecale Folgore -

• The Grecale Folgore is powered by a dual-motor setup combinedly producing a maximum power of 557 hp and a peak torque of 820 Nm
• The motors are fed by a 105-kWh battery that offers a WLTP-claimed range of 500 km

• As for charging, the battery supports a maximum charging rate of 150 kW with DC charging and 22 kW with AC charging 
• Performance-wise, the car runs from zero to 100 kmph in 4.1 seconds and zero to 200 kmph in 16.1 seconds. The electronically limited top speed is rated at 220 kmph

• Dimensionally, the Grecale EV measures 4,865 mm in length, 1,948 mm in width, and 1,651 mm in height and carries a wheelbase of 2,903 mm long
• With a typical Italian design inspired by the Grecale Trofeo version, the EV features an inverted grille and large air intakes
• It rides on a set of either 19-,20- or 21-inch wheels
• Among the key interior highlights are - ‘Folgore’ badging on the dashboard, distinctive carbon copper 3D touch trims, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, Sports seats with 14-way power adjustment, 12.3-inch infotainment unit, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and an 8.8-inch comfort display

• Set to go on sale later this year, the Grecale Folgore rivals the likes of the BMW iX, Mercedes-Benz EQC, and Jaguar I-Pace in the global markets
