Malaysia gets its second Mercedes-Benz Centre of Competence

KUALA LUMPUR: The Centre of Competence certification is a stringent evaluation of Mercedes-Benz workshop equipment. It assures customers that their cars here will be restored to global standards set by the company. In short, it is the best place for Mercedes owners to take their cars for a spa day!

In Malaysia, Mercedes-Benz had one such facility which goes by the name Cycle & Carriage Batu Caves and now there is one more. Yes, the Cycle & Carriage Glenmarie body and paint center is upgraded to Centre of Competence status.

Cycle & Carriage Malaysia CEO, Mr Thomas Tok said, “At Cycle & Carriage, we put our customer’s safety at the heart of everything we do, including repair and services, and we are proud to say that Cycle & Carriage Glenmarie has achieved the highest Mercedes-Benz accredited status to be able to provide you with the care and service you need from a premium luxury brand.”

Let us get to know the upgraded Cycle & Carriage Glenmarie in detail -

• The center has a total built-up area of 86,000 sq ft. which is occupied by a workshop, a tyre & rim boutique, a body & paint center, and an office area
• Ten units can be displayed at once at the new center
• It can handle 21 units in its work bay and 15 at its body & paint center at once
• Getting a Centre of Competence means the center gets the equipment and technical know-how to perform complex restoration works like aluminum structural welding and chassis realignment
• Only original parts are used and the work is carried on by qualified technicians

The Cycle & Carriage Glenmarie Center was launched back in 2023 and is the latest one to obtain the brand’s highest accredited Centre of Competence status. In order to achieve the latter the center adhered to a series of evaluations. A Technical Specialist from Mercedes-Benz Global Service & Parts and Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Customer Services Team carries out the accreditation status. This includes on-site technical training which ensures vehicles are restored to their original specifications.
