Malaysia Autoshow 2024: Jetour Dashing and Jetour X70 Plus introduced

KUALA LUMPUR: This year’s Malaysia Autoshow welcomed the Chery group brand, Jetour. The automaker brought along two of its finest cars to the Malaysia shores, the Dashing and X70 Plus. We’ll be discussing both in detail here, starting with the Jetour X70 Plus.

Jetour X70 Plus

• The all-new X70 Plus is a seven-seater D-segment SUV, therefore in Malaysia, it will compete against the likes of the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro and the Proton X90
• Once launched, it will be offered in two variant options, Prime & Signature
• As for dimensions, it measures 4,724mm X 1,900mm X 1,720mm (L X W X H); its wheelbase and ground clearance are fairly modest at 2,720 mm and 144 mm, respectively
• Powering the Malaysian-spec model is a 1.5-litre turbocharged 4-cyl engine making a maximum power of 150 PS at 5,500 rpm along with a peak torque of 230 Nm from between 1,750 and 4,000 rpm

• A few striking elements on the outside include LED headlights, roof rails, a large hexagonal grille, full chrome window surrounds, red exterior highlights, sharp headlights, full-width taillight, 19-inch two-tone alloy wheels, and quad tailpipes
• The cabin features a widescreen panel with twin 10.25-inch displays, a separate screen for AC, keyless entry, paddle shifters, push-button start, 6-way power adjustable driver’s seat, leather upholstery, cruise control, a 50-watt Qi wireless charger, a 360-degree camera system, powered tailgate, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto

• Limited to the Signature trim is driver’s side seat memory, panoramic glass sunroof, and metal pedals
• The car’s standard safety specs include our airbags and autonomous emergency braking, while the range-topping variant gets a door-opening warning, curtain airbags (six airbags in total), blind spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, and rear cross-traffic alert

Jetour Dashing

• Unlike the X70 Plus, the Dasing is a five-seater SUV and is sized between the Honda CR-V and Toyota Corolla Cross
• The car measures 4,590mm X 1,900mm X 1,685mm (L X W X H), with its wheelbase spanning 2,720mm
• Like the X70 Plus, it too will be offered in Malaysia in two trim options, Prime and Signature
• Powering the X70 Plus is a 1.5-litre turbo inline-four petrol engine making a maximum power output of 156 PS at 5,500 rpm along with a peak torque of 230 Nm from 1,750 to 4,000 rpm

• It comes with an array of standard features, including LED headlamps, LED DRLs, LED tail lights, and a powered tailgate on the outside. On the inside, it gets keyless entry and, remote engine start, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, leather seat upholstery, a 50W wireless charging pad, a six-way power driver’s seat, a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, CN95 filter, four speakers and automatic air-conditioning with rear vents

• Part of its standard safety kit are several driver assist and passive safety functions, including ABS, EBD, brake assist, reverse camera, cruise control, 6 airbags, traction control, ISOFIX, traction control, overspeed warning, tyre pressure monitoring, and four reverse sensors

• The range-topping trim further gets a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, 4-way powered front passenger seat, blind spot monitoring, lane change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert
