Lexus strengthens the driver-car connection with the Tazuna Concept

KUALA LUMPUR: Taking inspiration from the symbiotic interaction and relationship between a horse and a jockey, Lexus has introduced the Tazuna Concept. With this concept, Lexus aims to establish an emotional connection between the car and the driver. 

The innovative Tazuna Concept offers a one-of-a-kind driving experience, with a reimagined interior layout enhancing your connection to the road.

Translating the Tazuna Concept to reality from an idea was not an easy process. It involved thoughtful considerations and meticulous analysis of technology and design. Lexus collaborated with skilled Takumi artisans to optimize the shift lever and steering wheel design, reducing unnecessary movements and elevating the intuitive characteristics of the switches.

"With the introduction of this new concept, we want drivers to be able to experience a more immersive drive with an intuitive interface that will allow drivers to develop a special bond with their vehicle. The key to the Tazuna Concept is for drivers to always be safe and in full control as they perform functions such as shifting gears or accessing control buttons. It is the kind of emotional and instinctive connection between driver and car that Lexus strives to achieve while designing the cockpit of the Lexus NX," said Datuk Ravindran K., President, Lexus Malaysia. 

The extensive research conducted by Lexus resulted in an ergonomic layout between the driver's seat and steering wheel, promoting posture and comfort. The steering wheel features touch-tracer switches to enhance the convenience of the driver. Operational controls have been placed thoughtfully without compromising posture. The cockpit has been designed in a way that simplifies interactions. The frequently used physical buttons can be found on the steering wheel, and other buttons have been embedded into the central multimedia touch screen.
