Lexus LM 350 launched in Malaysia, check all details here

KUALA LUMPUR: Toyota’s luxury arm, Lexus has finally rolled out the LM 350 MPV in Malaysia after opening its order books back in December. Known as the rebadged version of the Toyota Alphard, the luxury people mover is on offer in a sole 4-seater variant imported from Japan. The price of this VIP lounge on wheels starts at RM 1,148,000 (on-the-road without insurance) i.e. approximately 2.5x more than the Alphard.

On the exterior, the LM 350 features a large spindle grille flanked by three-beam LED projector headlamps integrated with the iconic Lexus daytime-running lights pattern. At the back, there are LED tail lights with full-width signature lighting and on the sides, we can notice the 18-inch noise-reducing wheels finished in hyper chrome metallic and wrapped in 235/50R18 tyres

The sharp and bold exterior lines of the MPV are further accentuated with chrome highlights, Other notable exterior bits are front and rear moon roofs, front and rear acoustic glass, and power sliding doors. The available colour choices include - Black and White Pearl Crystal Shine.

Getting inside, here we can see an ultra-luxury cabin with just 4 seats, including two individual VIP lounge seats in the rear. The seats feature AdapiPedic rate-sensitive response cushioning that intuitively forms according to individual body shapes to provide extra comfort. The seats also have an Ottoman massage function providing individual cooling and heating to keep passengers relaxed throughout the journey. Other interior highlights are

• Air-conditioning with Nanoe negative ion generator
• Sound-insulating glass cabin partition with variable opacity

Powering the Lexus LM 350 is the same 3.5 litre naturally-aspirated direct-injected V6 mill available under the Alphard’s hood. The mill produces a maximum power of 296 hp at 6,600 rpm and a peak torque of 361 Nm 4,700 rpm. An eight-speed automatic gearbox transmits the power to the wheels, enabling the MPV to hit the century sprint in 8.3 seconds. The top speed is rated at 180 kmph.

As for safety, it gets seven airbags and the Lexus Safety System + (LSS+), including 

• Pre-Collision System (PCS)
• Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) with stop and go function
• Lane Tracing Assist (LTA)
• Lane Departure Alert (LDA)
• Adaptive High-Beam System (AHS)
