Land Rover's London Takeover Video: Celebrating the 2,000,000th Iconic Defender

Kuala Lumpur: Land Rover has recently launched the London Takeover video on the Youtube to celebrate the iconic defender as the 2,000,000th vehicle produced at Solihull. The automaker has redesigned the iconic off-roader as a London Taxi Cab ahead of its display at Bonhams, London on December 15 and 16 followed by its auction debut. The 2,000,000th series defender has been built by an all-star cast of special guests, including Land Rover ambassador Bear Grylls. The entire auction earnings of the off-roader will be donated to Land Rover's charity partners: the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the Born Free Foundation.

In the video, you can see the iconic Defender as a usual taxi cab driving through the streets of London. The video also showcases a newspaper with the headline - Land Rover Defender Feaver Hit the London, with the cues of the 4×4 seen everywhere. Other exciting variations of the defender in the video includes a second series Land Rover ice cream van, a custom-made Paul Smith Defender in addition to the first ever series Land Rover show car, which was unveiled at the Amsterdam Motor Show in 1948. Among the various sights and sounds of London, all these variations of the iconic defender highlight the legacy of the off-roader which is undoubtedly the world's best 4X4, while invoking a bit of nostalgia.

To recap, the Defender 2,000,000th was unveiled earlier in June to celebrate the 67 years of production of the off-roader in Solihull and two-millionth series Land Rover Defender. Sadly, the production of this iconic off-roader will at the end of this year, with a next-generation Land Rover Defender, expected to be unveiled in 2018. The new Defender is expected to be offered in body styles and will focus on the commercial success over the hardcore philosophy of the outgoing defender, to attract more customers.
