KUALA LUMPUR:  Lamborghini Kuala Lumpur has officially launched the new Urus SE, its first plug-in hybrid 'Super SUV', in Malaysia. This new model blends an electrified powertrain with an updated design and state-of-the-art technology, marking a significant advancement for the iconic brand.

Enhanced Powertrain

Under the hood, the Urus SE features a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine, delivering 620 PS (612 hp or 456 kW) and 800 Nm of torque. This powerful engine is paired with an electric motor that contributes an additional 192 PS (189 hp or 141 kW) and 483 Nm of torque. The combined system output is an impressive 800 PS (789 hp or 588 kW) and 950 Nm, allowing the Urus SE to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 312 km/h.

Improved Performance Over Previous Models

The Urus SE outshines its predecessor, the Urus S, which was released in September 2022 with 666 PS (657 hp or 490 kW) and 850 Nm of torque. The new model's superior performance figures make it a standout in the luxury SUV market.

Eco-Friendly and Efficient

One of the standout features of the Urus SE is its plug-in hybrid capability, providing up to 60 km of electric-only range thanks to a 25.9-kWh lithium-ion battery. This feature allows for a more eco-friendly driving option, ideal for urban environments. The SUV includes an eight-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system, with an integrated front differential and a rear electronic limited-slip differential for enhanced handling and stability.

Advanced Suspension and Driving Modes

The Urus SE also comes equipped with air springs that can adjust ground clearance from 15 mm in Corsa mode to 75 mm when needed. The SUV offers various driving modes, including Strada, Sport, Neve, and PHEV-specific modes such as Hybrid, Recharge, and EV Drive, allowing drivers to tailor the vehicle's performance to their preferences and driving conditions.

Updated Design and Aerodynamics

Design-wise, the Urus SE features new daytime running lights that wrap around the headlamp clusters with matrix LED technology. Both the front and rear bumpers have been subtly redesigned, and the rear tailgate now includes a spoiler working in tandem with a revised diffuser, providing 35% more downforce at high speeds compared to the Urus S. Additional aerodynamic improvements include underbody air vents and revamped air ducts, enhancing cooling for the mechanical and engine components by 15%, and improving brake cooling by 30%.

Modernized Interior

Inside the Urus SE, Lamborghini has introduced two 12.3-inch displays, along with an updated infotainment system featuring improved graphics.

The rest of the cabin maintains Lamborghini's luxurious standards, offering extensive customization options, including wheel sizes ranging from 21 to 23 inches.
