Let’s know this latest Lamborghini model in a better way with the help of detailed images.
Starting with the exterior, the design of this super sports car is based on the “Form follows function” principle. It uses lightweight carbon-fibre components resulting in a significant weight reduction and a sporty, sleek model with undeniably bold proportions.
The bonnet is casted from lightweight carbon fibre and features an air outlet contributing to the overall aerodynamics efficiency and the engine cooling.
The front bumper of the SUV is also redesigned along with the addition of deep cuts in the hood lines. Also new is the optional carbon fibre roof, reminiscent of the brand’s other super sports models like the Huracán Performante and Super Trofeo.
Just like the front, the rear end of the Urus Performante is equally unique with a rear spoiler housing carbon fibre fins. Inspired by the Aventador SVJ, it also contributes to the increased downforce. To be precise, it increases rear downforce by 38%.
The lower rear bumper and diffuser of the super SUV are also made of carbon fibre with a lightweight titanium Akrapovič sports exhaust as standard.
With the help of new steel springs, Lamborghini engineers lowered the Performante’s chassis by 20 mm. The wheel track is now broader by 16 mm over which wider carbon fibre wheel arches incorporate new 23-inch or 22-inch lightweight wheels with specially developed Pirelli tyres.
Further enhancing the dynamism of the Urus Performante is its bi-color livery scheme. Along with the body colour, it features black painted door handles, air outlets positioned on the bonnet, and a spoiler lip.
Hop inside the super SUV and you will be welcomed by a cockpit wrapped with Nero Cosmus black Alcantara with a new hexagonal seat stitching design. The door cards, roof lining, seat backrest, and rear wall all are finished in the ‘Performante’ trim with microfibre upholstery.
With the Lamborghini Ad Personam customisation program, one can also add interior matt carbon fibre details, red door handles, and a customised kick plate to the mix. Also, customers can pec the car with a Dark package adding matte black finishing to the cabin.
Further setting the model apart from the Standard Urus is the exclusive Performante logos and a new dedicated HMI graphic on both the centre console display and in a large arc across the main screen.
The car also comes with an exclusive and advanced suite of connected technologies, the Lamborghini Connect, which takes the driving engagement to a next level. It always keeps the customers up-to-date about all the functions on board, even when they are not at the wheel.
The lighter, sportier, and bolder Urus is powered by a re-tuned 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine cranking out a maximum power of 666 PS and a peak torque of 850 Nm. This power plant offers an enhanced performance experience as the SUV runs from zero to 100 kmph in 3.3 seconds i.e. 1.2 seconds quicker than the standard Urus. The top speed is rated at 306 kmph.
At the heart of Lamborghini's driving dynamics lies the ANIMA Selector, which is the key control system for choosing the preferred setup out of the four available choices. These include -
STRADA - Offers a comfortable and luxurious ride with smooth damping
SPORT - Offers an enhanced throttle response, with more agile rear-wheel steering at low speeds and stable at high speed
CORSA - Promises supreme handling with high-speed stability and flat cornering with the help of active anti-roll bars and maximum damping
RALLY - Takes the SUV’s fun-to-drive sportiness to a thrilling new level on dirt tracks. Anti-roll and damping systems are optimised for steel springs on more extreme surfaces to amplify the oversteer characteristic
The one-step-ahead Urus Performante also benefits from cutting-edge vehicle dynamics control systems with new active chassis systems and a torque-vectoring system paired with rear-wheel steering. The latter is calibrated to deliver greater agility and lightness.
