Lamborghini Huracán Evo RWD breaks cover

KUALA LUMPUR: Lamborghini Huracán Evo RWD has arrived with style modifications, better tech and same power output. The company has ditched the AWD setup for a rear-wheel-drive model. It no longer features front driveshafts and prop-shaft. The power bump, however, remains the same as before.

The Lamborghini Huracán Evo RWD gets a 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10 engine underneath that pumps out a max power of 610 PS at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 560 Nm at 6,500 Nm, same the AWD model. The engine is mated to a 7-speed DCT.

As far as the performance of the new RWD model is concerned, it travels to 100 kmph from standstill in just 3.3 seconds before attaining a top speed of 325 kmph.

The new Huracán Evo RWD features advanced traction control that’s more precise. The company has tuned the Performance Traction Control System (P-TCS) for exactly the same application. What this system will do is supply continuous power to the wheels even when the car is still in the recovery stage after a slide around a corner. This will not only prevent cutting throttle quickly but provide better traction.

The Anima controller allows you to select from the multiple intervention levels depending on the drive. The three modes on offer are, Strada, which also the default mode, Sport and Corsa. While in the Strada mode, the system manages torque delivery and keep rear-wheel slip to the minimum, the Sport mode allows the rear end to slide whilst not letting the car go out of control.

The Corsa mode, on the other hand, is for performance lovers. In this mode, the cornering speeds are maximized while keeping the agility and traction in check with the right amount of slip.

Design-wise, the front fascia has been revamped. The Y-shaped inserts have been replaced with simpler air intakes. The large inlet at the centre is downturned. The rear diffuser design has been modified, now features larger tunnels and high-mounted exhaust exits. The rear bumper has been reworked as well. The rear spoiler is taller than on the standard model.

Inside, there is a new 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system placed in portrait style. It comes with Apple CarPlay functionality. An exclusive hue for the leather and Alcantara upholstery is available that matches with the new Giallo Belenus yellow exterior paint.

The Lamborghini Huracán Evo RWD is made up of carbon fibre and aluminium that makes it 33 kg lighter than the AWD model. Its dry weight is 1,389 kg.

It runs on the double-wishbone suspension with passive dampers. Moreover, it features ventilated steel brakes as standard. The carbon-ceramic units are available as an option.

The Lamborghini Huracán Evo RWD gets a starting price of €159,443 (RM 732,800). The deliveries are slated to begin from March.
