Jeep Wrangler and Renegade Islander special editions revealed

KUALA LUMPUR: First introduced in 1988, the Jeep Wrangler Islander edition is back for the 2021 model year after 11 years of absence, but this time it is not alone. The special Wrangler is accompanied by the all-new Jeep Renegade Islander trim. With 4x4 capability, both models boast unique, beach-themed accents, a cheerful style, and summer-fun features.

Based on the Wrangler Sport S, the Wrangler Islander comes in either two or four doors. The exterior enhancements include a Tiki Bob hood decal, Rubicon Rock Rails, and 17-inch Rubicon aluminium wheels in silver finish with all-terrain tyres. A white three-piece hardtop is also available. Included in the optional Mopar Plus Package are front/rear grab handles, cargo tub liner, solid sunbonnet top, and Tiki Bob soft spare-tyre cover.

 Inside the cabin, the beach-themed Wrangler incorporates the following goodies:

• Uconnect 4 with a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto 
• Dual-zone temperature control
• Ceramic White mid-bolster and black cloth seats with Surf Blue accents and Islander logo 

Jeep offers the new Wrangler Islander in nine color options - Billet Silver, Black, Chief, Bright White, Granite Crystal, Firecracker Red, Sarge Green, Hellayella, Snazzberry, and Sting-Grey.

Moving to the Jeep Renegade, the off-road SUV gets the Islander edition for the first time. It is based on the Renegade North 4x4 and features several tweaks inside and out. The SUV sports a Tiki Bob hood decal on the exterior along with 19-inch Silver Alloy wheels with all-season tyres. Inside, the standard features include

• Dual-pane panoramic sunroof
• Uconnect 4 with a 7-inch touchscreen supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
• Premium black cloth seats with Surf Blue accents and an Islander logo 
• Keyless entry with panic alarm
• Remote start system

The Jeep Renegade Islander color choices include Bikini, Jetset Blue, Glacier, and Omaha Orange.

The Jeep Wrangler and Renegade Islander special editions are now available in the US showrooms. The two-door Wrangler model is priced at $33,370 (135,176), while the four-door version retails for $36,870 (149,354). The Jeep Renegade Islander price starts at $27,430 (RM 111,114).
