Jaguar Land Rover Showcases its Cars Trio for James Bond Spectre
Kuala Lumpur: There has always been a strong BOND of 007 movies with the heavily mutated British cars. Be it the Jaguar Land Rover or the Aston Mastin. This year's bond legacy “Spectre” will feature another star-studded lineup of vehicles. Although, this trio was already revealed to us earlier, but if it is still unknown to you, then here is the list of superstar cars that will appear in the next 007 flick, Spectre.
The British lineup this year will be the famous trio of sports and performance featuring Jaguar C-X75, Range Rover Sports SVR and the Land Rover Defender Big Foot. All three were recently unveiled at the famous Thurn and Taxis building in Frankfurt this week. Although, Jaguar's stunning C-X75 hypercar didn't make the production cut, but it did make it into the movie alongside a Land Rover and a Range Rover.
The cancelled 888hp (900) Jaguar C-X75 hybrid will be driven by David Bautista who stars as Bond’s arch-enemy, Hinx in the 24th James Bond adventure. Yeah, just life real life, the villain always gets the supercar. This particular Jag is developed in collaboration of JLR Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) and Williams Advanced Engineering in Oxfordshire, England. Soon, you will see this supercar in a chase seen in the movie. The car is powered by a 1.6-litre twin-charged four-cylinder engine that makes 502 hp and a set of dual electric motors that produce 194 hp.
Also featured in the movie are heavily modified versions of the classic Land Rover Defender Big Foot modified by JLR Special Operations. According to the company, Defender was tested to contend with snow-covered mountain roads, where it will be featured. Modifications include huge 37-inch off-road tyres along with bespoke suspension systems and enhanced body protection.
Apart from it there is the firm's fastest and most powerful model ever, the 550PS (542hp) and 680 Nm (501 lb-ft) supercharged V8 Range Rover Sports SVR. The SVO-developed car features an AJ-V8 Gen III 5.0 litre supercharged V8 that can achieve a 0-100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds.
John Edwards, MD of JLR SVO said: “For Jaguar Land Rover to once again be a part of the iconic vehicle lineups in one of the most celebrated film franchises in the world represents a proud moment for us. It’s an incredible opportunity to showcase production and concept cars alike and we look forward to continuing this relationship well into the future.”
The star of the movie, agent 007 played once again by Daniel Craig will drive a new one-off Aston Martin model named DB10. If you are planning to own it after watching the movie, then it isn't possible as only ten DB10s will be made by hand at Gaydon, and all are for the production of the film.
Spectre is due in cinemas on November 6, 2015.
