While Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors has yet to announce the Creta price for Malaysia, we can get some hints from the neighbouring markets. The Korean SUV retails between IDR 408.3 million (RM 86,153 and RM 120,756) in Indonesia, where it is assembled locally. The Indonesian-made Creta is also exported to Thailand, where it is priced between THB 949k and THB 999k (RM 121,806 to RM 128,224).
If we look at its competitors, the Malaysian-born Proton X50 is the cheapest in the lot with a starting price of RM 86,300. On the other hand, the Japanese counterparts are a bit expensive and the Creta is also likely to be priced somewhere around them. Well, pricing is always a concern when it comes to non-national models.

The upcoming Hyundai Creta will be offered in a single 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine delivering a maximum power of 115 PS and a peak torque of 144 Nm. On the other hand, the X50 comes equipped with a 1.5-litre engine that has two versions - port-injection and direct injection; the HR-V is offered in three options - 1.5-litre NA i-VTEC, 1.5-litre VTEC turbo, and an e:HEV hybrid; and the Toyota Corolla Cross is powered by a 1.8-litre mill.
