How much does the new 2022 Subaru BRZ cost in Malaysia?
KUALA LUMPUR: In March this year, Motor Image (MI), the authorized distributor of Subaru cars in Malaysia, started accepting orders for the new second-gen BRZ. The automaker didn't reveal much information about the November 2020 revealed sports sedan. However, the dealers' advertisements passed on some information about the upcoming car.

The two BRZ trims were priced at RM 229,245 and RM 239,245. No word on the sedan’s availability (no. of units) or commencement of the deliveries was shared.
However, since March, things have changed quite a bit on the Subaru BRZ front; the sports sedan now costs more. Yes, a quick check with the dealers revealed that the 2022 BRZ price has increased by RM 20k from May 1, 2022.
Customers who placed an order on May 1 will not be affected by the price hike. Also, no changes in the new BRZ specs sheet are known, and there won’t be any from what we know.
What is confirmed is the car's seven to eight months of waiting period.
2022 Subaru BRZ: A quick recap
Powertrain
The second-generation BRZ is powered by a naturally-aspirated 2.4-litre flat-four boxer engine making a maximum power output of 237 PS at 7,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 250 Nm at 3,700 rpm.
As mentioned above, the sports sedan is offered with two transmission options - manual and automatic, both benefiting from a Torsen limited-slip differential.
Performance-wise, while the manual option completes the century sprint in 6.3 seconds after attaining a top speed of 226 kmph, the automatic transmission option hits the same target in 6.8 seconds and maxes out at 216 kmph.

Safety

The latter works with the support of a rear cross-traffic alert and a blind-spot monitor.
In addition to the above-mentioned features, the automatic version comes equipped with paddle shifters and a full suite of EyeSight systems, including false suppression control, active cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, and front vehicle departure alert.
Price and color options
The all-new 2022 Subaru BRZ price has been increased by 20k, with the deliveries starting after 7 to 8 months at the minimum. A 5-year, 100,000 km warranty accompanies each purchase.
