Honda Malaysia announced the HR-V Sport Hybrid price

KUALA LUMPUR: Honda first introduced the HR-V to the Malay market in 2015 and very soon it became a huge success with more than 103,000 units currently running on local roads. The SUV received an update earlier this year but since then we were waiting for the price of its revamped Hybrid variant, well our wait is now over. Honda officially unveiled the HR-V Sport Hybrid i-DCD price tag, which reads RM 113,954.82 (on the road, without insurance, and inclusive of the SST rebate).

Under the hood, the variant is equipped with a 1.5L DOHC i-VTEC engine with Direct Injection, an electric motor, and a lithium-ion traction battery. The engine churns out a maximum power output of 132 PS and a peak torque of 156 Nm, whereas the electric motor delivers 30 PS and 160. The combined output is rated at 152 PS and 190 Nm. For sending power to the wheels, the hybrid setup is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The exterior kit of the new HR-V Sport Hybrid i-DCD includes LED headlights, LED guide tail lights, and LED front fog lights. It also has chrome door handles now that lend it a more outstanding and stylish outlook. The colour palette includes three choices - Platinum White Pearl, Lunar Silver Metallic, and Modern Steel Metallic.

Inside, things look more upmarket with a new 7-inch display audio system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Honda also added 2 USB ports to the mix for more convenience and a three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel for a sportier driving experience.

In terms of safety, the SUV is packed with six airbags. Other important features are emergency stop signal, automatic brake hold, vehicle stability assist, hill start assist, and rear seat ISOFIX.
