Honda CR-V 2017 Wears New Avatar, Houses Seven Seats
KUALA LUMPUR: The next generation Honda CR-V will be made more innovative in 2017 to differentiate from its smaller sibling - HR-V, according to Auto-car UK. Leon Brannan said that Honda heads the car market in the UK, and the new CR-V will be modified with seven seats and four-wheel drive, in comparison to its rival the Land Rover Discovery Sport and Volvo XC60.
According to Brannan, the CR-V works as a 'massive pillar' for Honda. The HR-V will remain a two-wheel drive vehicle, which will give space for the new CR-V to create a new position in the market. He makes it clear by admitting that the CR-V will compete with the Land Rover, which certainly is a tough rival.
The interior is expected to encompass much from the HR-V, which involves dashboard layout and touch-screen infotainment system from the smaller car. The engine could also be similar as in the HR-V, which comes in a 118 hp 1.6-litre diesel and a 128 hp 1.5 litre petrol variants.
It is too early to say about the features of power-train for the CR-V 2017, although it is sure that Honda can introduce a new line of turbo-petrol engines. For some people, 'VTEC turbo' is considered as oxymoron, but Honda is trying to improve it and move onto the turbo bandwagon with an aim to improve the economy and lower the emissions.
