Have a look at the camouflage 2023 Axia; over 3k bookings received

KUALA LUMPUR: What you see above is the all-new third-gen Perodua Axia, showcased by the automaker recently in partial camouflage. Seems like the automaker is trying to tease us and build excitement levels for the soon-to-launch hatchback.

The new Axia was introduced by Perodua a few days back with its bookings opened then and there. To date, the automaker has received 3,591 bookings with the maximum share grabbed by range-topping variants (SE and AV). Also, bringing more credibility to the new Axia is its 4-star safety rating by ASEAN NCAP.

2023 Perodua Axia: Key details

• The car benefits from the new Daihatsu New Global Architecture (DNGA) platform
• Offered in the local market are four variants of the 2023 model namely, G, X, SE, and AV
• All variants are powered by the same, carried-over engine as the previous-gen model, a 1.0-liter 3-cyl VVT-i unit making 67 hp and 91 Nm
• New is a Dual-mode CVT (D-CVT) gearbox which replaces the 4-speed gearbox

• The new Axia offers a fuel consumption of 27.4 kmpl
• Axia’s top variants, SE and AV, benefit from two amazing features, ‘Eco Idle’ and Power Mode Dive
• X variants onwards the hatch gets LED headlamps, SE & AV trims come with LED DRLs, auto retractable side mirrors
• Top-end AV variant exclusively offers two-tone semi-leather seats, a 7-inch TFT digital instrument cluster, and a 9-inch touchscreen display

• Available color options are Ivory White, Coral Blue, Glittering Silver, Granite Grey, and Lava Red
• Standard safety kit includes Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Pedestrian Protection technology, and Seatbelt Reminder System (SBR)
• Perodua’s A.S.A 3.0 advanced safety system is offered in higher-tier variants (auto high beam, lane departure warning & prevention, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert)
