The Haval H6 comes in two engine options - 1.5-litre turbocharged inline-four unit producing 177 hp and a 2.0-litre turbo mill tuned to deliver 231 hp.Let’s know the changes in detail.
The new Haval H6 measures 4703 mm in length, 1886 mm in width, and 1730 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2738 mm. Compared to its predecessor, it is 50 mm longer primarily due to the overhangs.
At the front, the new SUV sports a distinctive grille pattern with a prominent Haval badge, edged by new daytime running lights that form a unique "7-like" shape. The 'starlight' headlights, comprising 54 LED bulbs each, offer improved visibility, with a beam reaching up to 110 metres and 190 metres respectively. The notable changes at the back include redesigned lights, creating space for the Haval logo between the clusters.
Inside, the facelifted H6 boasts an off-white colour scheme, with chrome highlights on the steering wheel, door pulls, and dashboard base. The centre console gets a wireless 50W phone charging pad, two cup holders, and a stalk-mounted shifter replacing the gear selection dial.
The cabin houses two separate floating screens for the instrument panel and infotainment system, with minimal physical buttons, emphasising control via the human-machine interface and potential voice commands. The seats are upholstered in perforated leather, with rear seats offering a 60:40 split-folding configuration and air conditioning outlets for second-row passengers.
Under the hood, the new Haval H6 retains the same engines as its predecessor but with upgrades. The 1.5-litre turbocharged inline-four engine now delivers a maximum power of 177 hp, while the 2.0-litre turbo unit sees an increase from 210 hp to 231 hp. Both engines are paired with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. The automaker is likely to bring hybrid and PHEV variants of the SUV in the near future.
When will the Haval H6 come to Malaysia?
The Haval H6 is earmarked to launch in Malaysia around the second quarter of 2024. There's a chance the updated version will debut there, possibly making Malaysia one of the first markets to receive it globally.
