Emory QiFeng becomes the new managing director of SAIC Motor Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: The official distributor of MG cars in Malaysia, SAIC Motor Malaysia, has officially announced the appointment of Emory QiFeng as its new managing director. This strategic leadership change is set to enhance the company’s focus on expanding the presence of the MG brand in the country.

SAIC Motor marked its official entry into the Malaysian automotive arena with the launch of the  MG4 and MG ZS EVs back in March. This was followed by the launch of the MG5 sedan yesterday, and soon, the MG HS SUV will join the lineup. The MG’s newly launched vehicles offer an unlimited blend of stylish design, advanced technology, and dynamic performance, catering to the diverse needs of Malaysian drivers.

Emory QiFeng is ready to oversee the sales, marketing, and product strategy of the brand in Malaysia with his 25 years of experience in the automotive industry. He has held several leadership roles at SAIC-Volkswagen Sales Co Ltd, where he focused on network planning, development, and after-sales strategies. In 2023, he became the director of global business at SAIC Motor International and helped in strengthening the brand's presence worldwide. 

In 2024, he took the Chief Operating Officer position at SAIC Motor Malaysia and contributed to the company's growth in the local market.

Upon taking up the new role, Emory QiFeng said, “It is an honour to step into this new role at SAIC Motor Malaysia during such an exciting time for the company. My focus will be on continuing the momentum we have built in this market, expanding our product offerings, and delivering a superior customer experience.
