The swift statement shows their intent to solve it quickly as they care for their customers and their safetyA video clip shared on social media by the woman highlighted her frustration, indicating that she had previously raised the issue with the service center, but felt it was not adequately resolved.
Responding to the complaint, Chery Malaysia's Vice President, Lee Wen Hsiang, issued an official statement. He said in response to the complaint received from a customer about her Omoda 5, Chery Malaysia is taking this matter very seriously. Customer safety is always their top priority. Therefore, they have been in contact with the affected customer since Saturday (April 6, 2024), to address her concerns, including offering her a loaner vehicle for temporary use.

Chery Malaysia swiftly responded to the issue, as they want to build the momentum of an exceptional start to 2024, where it surpassed its entire 2023 sales figures in just the first quarter.
The automaker announced the sale of 4,564 vehicles in Q1 2024, slightly edging past the previous year's total of 4,501 units. This achievement is quite impressive considering the brand commenced delivering customer units only in September last year. Currently, there are over 9,000 Chery vehicles on Malaysian roads.
Leading the charge in Chery Malaysia's lineup is the Omoda 5, which emerged as the quarter's top seller with 3,703 units sold. Following closely was the Tiggo 8 Pro, with 788 units finding owners during the same period. The Tiggo 8 Pro, sold in a single variant, competes admirably in its segment, considering its introduction against more varied model options from competitors.
Earlier this year, Chery Malaysia announced plans to significantly expand its network. From having 32 outlets at the end of 2023, employing 550 staff across 18 3S/4S centers and 10 body and paint facilities, the company is now aiming to increase its footprint to 48 outlets and 16 body and paint centers throughout 2024.
Looking ahead, Chery is preparing to launch the Tiggo 7 Pro, which was previewed last month. With customer deliveries and the official launch expected by the end of May, this model is set to further bolster Chery Malaysia's growing presence in the market.
Chery Malaysia promptly tackled the matter, leveraging the wave of an outstanding beginning to 2024 that saw it eclipse its total sales from 2023 in merely the first quarter. In the fast-paced realm of the automotive industry, hiccups are not uncommon. However, the true mark of greatness lies in how a company responds to these challenges, earning its place among the esteemed.
